Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information IEP Parent Tools ("we," "us," or "our") collects when you visit iepparenttools.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect information directly from you when you interact with the site:

  • Lead-capture and newsletter forms: your name and email address when you request a free guide or checklist, or sign up for our email list.
  • Contact form: your name, email address, and message, along with your IP address, so we can respond and prevent abuse.
  • Purchases (when available): if you buy a digital product, payment is processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number — Stripe handles that securely. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made, along with your name and email address, so we can deliver your purchase and provide support.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver the free guide, checklist, or product you requested or purchased
  • Send you a welcome email and, where applicable, follow-up emails related to the resource you requested
  • Send product- and purchase-related customer-service communications
  • Send marketing or newsletter emails, only if you've subscribed to receive them — you can unsubscribe at any time
  • Respond to messages sent through our contact form
  • Keep our subscriber and customer records organized (we maintain one record per contact to avoid duplicate entries)
  • Protect the site against spam and abusive form submissions

Google Sheets

When you submit a lead-capture or contact form, a copy of your name, email, and submission details is also saved to a private Google Sheet that we use as our internal contact list. Access to this spreadsheet is limited to authorized users and is not shared publicly or with any third party beyond our own use of Google's hosting of the spreadsheet.

Email Delivery

Emails from this site — welcome messages, requested downloads, customer-service replies, and any newsletter emails you've subscribed to — are sent through our email provider. We do not use your email address for anything other than communicating with you about the resources, purchases, or subscriptions you've actually requested.

Cookies and Session Data

This site uses an essential session cookie to keep your browsing secure — for example, to protect forms against forgery (CSRF protection). This cookie is required for the site to function correctly and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Basic Site Analytics

We keep basic, privacy-conscious internal statistics — which pages are viewed and how many visitors we get — using a one-way, daily-rotating hash of your IP address and browser, not your IP address itself. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics or advertising service.

Spam Prevention

To protect our forms from spam and automated abuse, we temporarily record the IP address, browser information, and timing of form submissions that are blocked as suspected spam. This information is used only for abuse prevention and is periodically deleted.

Payment Processing

Purchases on this site are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle your payment information. We never see or store your full card details.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share information only with the service providers who help us run the site and fulfill your requests: our email delivery provider, Google (for our internal Sheets-based contact list), and Stripe (for payment processing, when applicable).

Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide support, fulfill purchases, maintain accurate accounting and business records, prevent fraud, and meet any legal obligations that apply to us — or until you ask us to delete it, whichever is appropriate. Spam-prevention records are deleted automatically after a limited retention period.

Your Choices

Every marketing/newsletter email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also contact us directly to unsubscribe, update your information, or ask what information we have about you.

Children's Privacy

This site is intended for parents, guardians, and other adults, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site changes. The most current version will always be posted on this page.
